Here’s another one for you: What are the size guidelines for editing photos and posting them? How many pixels wide is a good size? How many tall?

Here are some things to consider when choosing a photo size:

    - The photo should be no more than 200-300k. The system will accept photos up to 1MB but this it really too big.
    - A 200-300K photo should have 800 pixels as the biggest dimension. So if it’s a vertical photo (portrait) it should be 800px tall or horizontal (landscape) it should be 800px wide.
    - Consider the placement. In many cases you’ll want to place the photo to the right or left of the text. In this case, choose a vertical photo and make sure that you selct “Medium” as the size to display. Consider using photoshop or another photo editing program to get the crop and size you want.

    Chris and Rik, a question….

A few days ago I put a customized photo on the header of my blog and it looked good. Today I tried to change that photo and anything I tried came out blurry on the header even though the photos are perfectly clear. Then I put the original customized one back, unchanged from the one I originally had on there, and now that one is blurry too.

I am re-sizing the pictures to “small web” size, and going through the Wordpress cropping procedure in the normal way, etc.

    Thoughts on this?

    Hi Bill.

Could you email me the new photo you’re trying to put in and the original that is no longer working?

    Cheers,
